This 52-story and 779ft (237.4m) skyscraper on 555 California Street in San Francisco, formerly Bank of America Center, was the first skyscraper to be erected in the city, in 1972. The tower served as the world headquarters of Bank of America until the 1998 merger with NationsBank, when company moved its headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina.
